POC Photo Company in the new studio

One of the enjoyable and challenging things about photo-shoots is being able to translate what the client is looking for into something they will be happy with. My first client at my new studio actually came out of town for this photo-shoot. I had a previous client recommend me to him. He used some vacation time from work to visit friends in Austin and book a shoot with me. We discussed what he was looking for via email and met early December for the actual shoot. At the shoot I set up lighting to go for a high contrast/dramatic look and along the way I experimented with other lighting set-ups. As with many clients, they feel uncomfortable or intimidated by being in front of the camera. I always suggest that music is a great way to help loosen them up and also to help get into mood or look that they they are looking for. And in this case that certainly helped as had an extensive playlist of 70's and early 8o's punk.

Here a few examples from the shoot
