About Me

I originally wanted a camera so I could capture what l saw when I was walking down the street. Upon arriving in Seattle in 2003, I got that camera. That started my passion photographing the urban landscape. I ended up taking photos at a burlesque show one night and a second love was born. From that, I came into studio pin-up and portrait work. As a result of my involvement in burlesque photography I got involved in performing burlesque. Man Johnson is my burlesque name. I love that I have been able to travel for that and explore new places and meet new people. I continue to travel, mostly via road trips, to photograph new places, meet new people and have new experiences. In the past 5 years I've started writing, mostly short stories and essays, some genuine and some silly. What I'm really trying to do, like other artists, is trying to make connections with others in this beautiful, brutal and absurd world.
